The 1st International Thyroid NOTES Conference was held on February 3–4, 2016. The primary objective of the conference was to promote transoral thyroidectomy and to bring together pioneers of the transoral thyroidectomy technique. At this inaugural conference, the program consisted of scientific lectures and live surgical demonstrations of transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via the vestibular approach (TOETVA), a technique pioneered by Angkoon Anuwong. The conference was highly successful and marked a significant milestone in the global development of transoral thyroid surgery.
