The 1st International Thyroid NOTES Conference was held on 3–4 February 2016. Its primary objective was to promote transoral thyroidectomy and to bring together the pioneers of the technique. At this inaugural conference, the program consisted of scientific lectures and live surgical demonstrations of transoral endoscopic thyroidectomy via the vestibular approach (TOETVA), a technique pioneered by Angkoon Anuwong. The conference was highly successful and marked a significant milestone in the global development of transoral thyroid surgery.
